Balfour – Out With The Old, and In With the New ………. Housing.

At Orion Environmental we know our service men and women never seem to get the credit they deserve, so being able to help and support them in any way we can makes us at Orion Environmental not only excited but honored.

“The July 13, 2022, groundbreaking event was held at the Cherokee Village West neighborhood where existing 60-year-old military housing units will be demolished to make way for the planned construction of new homes for active-duty service members and families assigned to Fort Carson.

The demolition is the first stage of a multi-phased project paving the way for new three- and four-bedroom townhomes that will feature open floor plans, generous storage, updated finishes and flooring, outdoor living spaces and energy efficient systems and appliances. A new playground and covered picnic area is also planned as part of the project. ”Balfour Beatty Press Release

Orion took the lead on the large-scale Asbestos Abatement and disposal of the existing Military Housing. Per unit Orion Environmental was responsible for the Abatement and Removal of 7200 sq foot of drywall, 1620 sq foot of multilevel flooring, and 5 fittings. As well as the demolition and removal of 10 widows/doors (including surrounding caulking), and refrigerant evacuation. Apply these numbers to 60 units and you start to see the size, scope and impact of Orion’s work on this project.

With the project spanning multiple months and including such a large abatement Orion believes the positive impact from our work on this project will be felt for many years to come.
